We are excited to open the tennis club from tomorrow, Saturday 16 May. There are very strict criteria involved in the re-opening, and we ask that you read this email in its entirety and follow all the necessary steps.
The club has a responsibility to keep everyone safe, and everyone must play their part. At weekends the gates will be unlocked from 10.00 am - 4.30 pm daily. During the week entry will be by own key.
ALL players must complete contact tracing requirements. There is a QR scanner on the downstairs tennis club room door. If you have the QR ap downloaded on your phone open the ap and point phone camera at the QR square. It will register and ask for details which you enter on your phone. As a back up for this weekend you MUST also complete a manual contact tracing log which will be left outside the club room door (down the stairs beside the courts). The list will be removed at the end of each day and the sheets will be destroyed after four weeks if not required for tracing. Please note the clubroom itself is out of bounds and the ball machine is NOT to be used until further notice.
SENIOR SOCIAL TENNIS will be held Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 May from 1 pm - 3 pm. We can have no more than 18 attend each day and the group will be split in two as no more than ten players can play together in one session. This will be further explained on arrival. If you are keen to attend this weekend please reply by email or text 0274374860 with which day/s you wish to be there so we can monitor numbers. The courts are available only for senior social play during those two hours each day. After this weekend social is Saturdays only from 1 pm - 3 pm.
Social Tennis will resume at the Edgar Centre on Tuesday 19 May 6 pm - 8 pm. There will be number restrictions - further information to follow.
Courts are available for all members at other times, but the tracing requirements must be followed including time of arrival and departure.
Hand sanitiser will be at the top gate, along with a sanitising spray for the lock and gate. Please ensure you use these.
There is NO access to the bar for the tennis club members under level 2. The courts are available to Balmacewen Tennis Club members only during this time. Entry is through the top gate only, and the small gate between the top and lower courts must be left open at all times.
'Play and Go' is the directive we have been given - arrive, play, and leave the courts! The message is: Play It Safe, Contact Trace, Physically Distance - the health, safety and wellbeing of the whole community is of paramount importance.
Apologies for the length of this email but the information is important, and once we open we do not want to have to close again! Thanks so much in anticipation for your co-operation and help in putting the above into practice.
